Pa. Woman Sentenced For Bilking $170K From Grandma
Montgomery County President Judge Richard Hodgson told 30- year-old Joelle Paige Speidel, of Lower Pottsgrove, that she left her 91-year-old grandmother “penniless” as he sentenced her Thursday.
Joelle Speidel previously pleaded guilty to charges of theft by unlawful taking and identity theft.
Authorities say Speidel had been entrusted with access to the account to help manage it but instead used the money to make car and tuition payments and go on vacations.
Defense attorney Elizabeth Lippy says her client takes full responsibility for the thefts.
