Chief Probation Officer Honored


Fulton County Chief Probation Officer Roger Strait (second from right) was honored for his years of service last Wednesday morning by judges of the 39th Judicial District serving both Fulton and Franklin counties. On hand for the special presentation and plaque presentation were Court of Common Pleas judges (left to right) Angela Rosenberry Krom and Carol L. Van Horn, and President Judge Douglas Herman. Strait has held several positions within county government, including overseeing a summer program for economically challenged youths, court deputy, probation officer and chief probation officer, a title he has carried for more than 24 years. Strait’s retirement after 35 years of county employment begins July 31.
