Beta Sigma Phi News
The sisters of Xi Eta Lambda, McConnellsburg chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, were quite active over the spring months.
Activities in April included ushering at the MHS musical and donating to both the MHS and FRHS musicals. Sisters also attended the Founders Day banquet hosted by the Warfordsburg Preceptor Gamma Pi at Maryland’s Town Hill Bed and Breakfast. In May, the sisters hosted a mother/ daughter banquet at the Fort Family Restaurant, using the theme of “a mother’s apron.”
In June, the sisters provided a snack for one night of Camp Cadet. We donated a basket of useful items to the FCMC Long-Term-Care residents and also gave awards at both McConnellsburg and Forbes Road High School graduations. The first meeting was the chapter’s birthday party and the sisters exchanged gifts. The second meeting the chapter reorganized for the year as sisters were placed in new offices and committee assignments. The yardstick was completed marking the chapter as a three-star one. Preparations for finding contestants and judges, soliciting businesses for prizes, planning the decorations for the tea and the stage, and making arrangements for entertainment during the tabulation of the scores as well as publicity with The Fulton County News for the fair queen pageant were begun.
