2 Of 3 Teens Killed In W. Pa. Crash Were Drunk
CRABTREE, Pa. (AP) – A coroner says 2 of 3 teenagers killed in a one-car crash in western Pennsylvania last month were drunk, and that the third had been drinking.
Westmoreland County Coroner Kenneth Bacha (BATCH’-uh) says the driver, 19-year-old Michael Simpson, of Greensburg, was the most intoxicated. Nineteenyear old passenger Jordan Cobb, was also drunk, and 18-year-old Carly Kudray, had been drinking. Both were from Export.
A fourth teen was ejected and injured, but survived.
State police say the four were riding along a rural highway when Simpson failed to make a bend and crashed into a tree after traveling over a 60-foot embankment.
The crash happened sometime between 12:15 a.m and 5:22 a.m. June 26, when a passer-by noticed the wreckage and called police.
