McConnellsburg Man Jailed On Assault Charges
A McConnellsburg man was lodged in the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail on Wednesday, July 14, on charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
According to state police reports, 23-year-old David Wayne Thomas allegedly put his hand in the face of a 21- year-old woman and pulled her hair outside the Pack Horse Tavern at 8:50 p.m. At the time, Thomas was preparing to leave the bar when the woman approached him for a ride to her parents’ home.
Police added he then started to drive away while the woman’s head was still inside the vehicle. She fell to the ground and suffered bruises and scratches to the right side of her body and arm when he made a righthand turn out of the business’ parking lot.
Thomas was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.
