Man Flees From Park Rangers
A 26-year-old Chambersburg area man faces a variety of charges, including flight to avoid apprehension, after he attempted to elude rangers from Cowans Gap State Park on July 17. Rangers reported Jose Espinoca has been cited with simple assault, flight to avoid apprehension, false identification to law enforcement, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Espinoca allegedly struck an individual in the face in an area above the park’s beach at 6 p.m. In the midst of his arrest, Espinoca fled into the woods on foot where he was eventually apprehended. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott and sent to the Franklin County Prison.
