ATV Passenger Injured

A McConnellsburg man suffered major injuries Friday night, July 16, when he was run over by an all-terrain vehicle in Union Township.

State police, McConnellsburg, reported 21-year-old Cordell Richard Carbaugh of 447 Horton Drive was a passenger on a Polaris 4x4 allterrain vehicle that was travelling northbound on High Germany Road at 11 p.m. While the four-wheeler was moving, state police said, Carbaugh attempted to stand on the front of the vehicle.

Carbaugh reportedly fell to the ground, and the all-terrain vehicle driven by Brittany Kayla Eader, 19, of Warfordsburg ran him over. State police concluded when the four-wheeler came to rest Carbaugh was struck beneath the front and rear axles.

Carbaugh was flown from the accident scene, but police did not say where he was taken. Troopers were assisted on the scene by members of the Little Orleans Fire and Ambulance Co.
