Arthur L. Fisher
Arthur L. “Art” Fisher, 73, Harrisonville, and formerly of Fort Loudon, died Thursday, July 15, 2010, in Falling Spring Nursing Center, Chambersburg.
Born May 12, 1937, in Fort Loudon, he was a son of the late Howard W. and Jean Gress Fisher.
Early in his life he farmed with his father, and later drove a milk truck for H.J. Culler of McConnellsburg.
He was a member of Fort Loudon United Methodist Church and a former member of PA Farmers Association. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and playing softball.
Surviving are his wife, Edna E. Smith Fisher, whom he married April 16, 1978; daughters: Jan Fisher, Nashville, Tenn.; Kelly Christman and Deanne Adams, both of St. Thomas; and Tina Helfrick, Greencastle; a son, Doug Fisher, Waynesboro; stepchildren: Charlene Thomas and Ted Leab, both of Fort Loudon; Teresa Allen, Pittsburgh; and Connie Johnson of Chambersburg; a sister, Ollie Harmon-Gibbons of Mercersburg and a brother, Donald L. Fisher, Fort Loudon; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 19, in Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg. Pastor Chuck Ryan officiated. Burial was made in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon.
