Get well wishes to Donnie Horne, who was a patient in Fulton County Medical

Center this past week and also a patient in Harrisburg for some tests. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Roger and Pat Ramsey attended a “first” birthday party for grandson Micah Ramsey on Sunday afternoon at the home of his parents Brian and Emily Ramsey. > Also attending the gathering were Wayne, Elaine and Rylan Good, and Lester and Edy Kitzmiller. If a picture can say a thousand words, Micah’s first birthday cake was the best.

Harry and Lynn Logan of Texas enjoyed visiting with many folks in this area during their recent vacation.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff enjoyed a wonderful 12-day trip to Alaska via plane, train and cruise ship.

A festival is being planned at the Clear Ridge community building on July 22. Turkey dinners, homemade ice cream and pies will be available.

Visiting recently with the Steve and Karen Grissinger family were Brent Carlson, Donna Locke, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Travis, Tauna, Tristen and Ty Hall, and Dan and Carol Jenakovich.

Tammy Grissinger and friends from Shippensburg enjoyed a Fourth of July fireworks show over the stadium in Pittsburgh.

Neal Hall reportedly saw a large bear recently near his home. On Friday evening, Terri Grissinger saw a bear near the former Moses Runk home.

There were two additional rattlesnake sightings this week on our side of the mountain.

Congratulations to Andy and Tasha Goshorn on the birth of their daughter, Miah Lea, on Saturday, July 17. Big brothers Shaine and Kean are ready to take on anyone who might think they could torment their little sister. Miah made her appearance on her great-uncle Buzz Covert’s birthday.

Karen Grissinger visited with Nook and Janet Brown in Burnt Cabins on Sunday afternoon. Opening a new business adjoining their Burnt Cabins Antique Business is Embers Cabinetry Sales. Buddy Fegley and Tami Stewart were busy assembling items for an early August opening.

Immanuel Bible Church will once again be having a multi-family yard sale on August 7 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. A food stand and baked goods will also be available.
