Sunday’s winner of the Riggs Open at Great Cove Golf was decided by a sudden death playoff. Fred Peck of Mc- Connellsburg and Andy Walker of Somerset both finished regular play with net 67s, setting up a playoff beginning on No. 1 for the trophy. Walker was not able to recover from an errant tee shot allowing Peck to win the hole with par and take home the trophy. Bill Yocum was third, carding a 78 for a net 70.

Fourth-through seventh place finishers all shot net 71s and were decided by a match of cards. Fourth place went to Toby Souders, fifth to Kerk Powers, sixth to Bob Hall and seventh to Jordon House.

The lower-gross prize was split between Eric Osselbun and John Buljat, both shooting 76s on the par-71 course. There were 84 players in the fields.
