What a difference a week makes.
Last week, Marvin Winters sustained a wrist injury in a crash at Hagerstown Speedway. This past Saturday night, the McConnellsburg driver rebounded despite wearing a brace on his wrist to capture his second Late Model win of the season in the Shaffer Special entry.
Winters’ latest win came in the Ernie D’s Special for Late Models and was worth more than $3,000 to the team. It was his 25th career win.
Winters took the win over Scott Lebarron, Jamie Lathroum, Ronnie Dehaven Jr. and Dylan Yoder, with Frankie Plessinger eighth.
Kyle Lear made it two straight wins in Late Model Sportsman competition as he took the win over Bruce Kane, Terry Flaherty, Ashley Barrett and Steve Axtell, Jr.
Brian Miller won the Pure Stock feature over Mike Warrenfeltz, Danny Beavers, Steve Lowery and Bill Reitober.
Danny Dietrich captured his second win of the year in Friday night Williams Grove Speedway 410 Sprint action. Dietrich took the win over Brent Marks, Brian Leppo, Tyler Walker and Justin Henderson.
Jason Shultz won the Grove’s 358 Sprint car feature over Ted Thomas, Cory Haas, Pat Cannon and Chad Criswell.
Alan Krimes was the dominant car in Saturday’s 410 Sprint feature at Lincoln Speedway as he ran away with his first win of the year over Brian Leppo, Lance Dewease, Brian Montieth and Mark Smith.
Young Logan Schuchart brought down the house with his first career 358 Sprint car win. He is the son of legend Bobby Allen and has a huge following at Lincoln. He took the win over Glenndon Forsythe, Doug Hammaker, Dale Hammaker and Adrian Shaffer.
Chad Layton used a last lap pass on Joey Hershey to win Saturday’s 410 Sprint main at Port Royal Speedway as Hershey, Mike Wagner, Ryan Taylor and Rick Lafferty followed.
Waylon Wagner won the Late Model main over Scott Haus, Tim Gray, Bob Dunn and Andy Haus.
Bobby Beard won Friday’s 358 Late Model main at Trail-Way Speedway over Gene Knaub, Carl Billet, Steve Billet and Shaun Jones. Knaub won the overall point series for the Tri Track Shootout.
Carmen Perigo Jr. was the winner of Saturday’s Wingless Super Sportsman feature at Williams Grove Speedway over Rick Barr, Dave Socks, Joey Biasi and Ryan Rupp, while Wes Alleman won the topless 358 Late Model feature over Craig Wagaman, Gene Knaub, Carl Billet and Charlie Schaffer.
Sunday night, Jason Covert made a late race pass to win the Revolution 2010 Ufo Race of Championship’s visit to Dog Hollow Speedway. He defeated Jamie Lathroum, Jeremy Miller, Chad McClellan and Jared Miley. Frankie Plessinger finished seventh.
Friday night action at Bedford Speedway was rained out while Selinsgrove and Susquehanna both took the weekend off from racing.
