Library Speaker Herb Brambley, Target 2010 Teacher on the Trail, will be at the Fulton County Library on Tuesday, July 20, at 3:00 p.m. Meet Herb’s dogs and learn about the 2010 Iditarod. Free program open to everyone. Sponsored by Dr. Joey Lane, optometrist.

Summer Ready Program Water Safety will be the Summer Reading Program event at the Fulton County Library with Kathy Kendall on Monday, July 19, at 2:00 p.m. Learn about lifeguarding and how to be safe in the water. All children and adults are welcome to attend. Sponsored by Eddie Lininger Plumbing and Heating.

MHS Tap Dancers Needed The MHS musical this year will be the Broadway musical “42nd Street.” The show requires female tap dancers. This summer is a rare opportunity for girls in grades 7-12 at MHS to learn and experience tap dancing. There will be 10 tap lessons given and they are completely free. These lessons will include the use of tap shoes. Auditions will be held in November. Each girl will be required to perform a short tap routine as part of her audition. The lessons will be taught by two experienced high school students from James Buchanan High School. Lessons will be Tuesday and Thursday in July and August from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium July 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29 and August 2, 5, 10 and 12. Also in need of tap shoes. Anyone having shoes to lend or donate please call 717-485-3528.

Wells Tannery Homecoming Parade Entries Needed Wells Tannery Park Homecoming Committee is looking for antique car owners and tractor drivers to bring their vehicles to the Wells Tannery Homecoming parade July 31. All are encouraged to set up flea market and craft tables. More information may be obtained by contacting kkearley@frontiernet.net.

Christmas In July Christmas In July will be held Sunday, July 25, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Detrich-Brechbill Post No. 612 American Legion, St. Thomas. Food, beverages, music and vendors. Ride with Santa Claus. Meet at M&S Harley Davison, Chambersburg. Parade forms no later than 12:30 p.m. and leaves promptly at 1:00 p.m. Additional information may be obtained by calling Lora Wolfe at 17-372-4651. All proceeds benefit Royal Family Kids Camps, (camp for abused and neglected kids). Donation is $10 per person.

Angel Food Ministries There will be sign-up for Angel Food Ministries menus and specials at Fulton County Catholic Mission. You do not have to order the signature box to order specials. Times will be July 15, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. If you eat, you qualify. School Supplies Fulton Catholic Mission will be collecting school supplies for students who attend the schools in Fulton County. The public drop-off areas are Fulton County Catholic Mission, Save-a-Lot, Snyder’s Insurance Agency, Dott Store in Warfordsburg, Keller’s Country Store, Hustontown and Park Station in Fort Littleton. The mission will have available free school supplies on Monday, August 23, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, at the social hall of St. Stephen Catholic Church in McConnellsburg.

Cookie Dough Sale The Medical Center Auxiliary will hold a Butcher Shoppe cookie dough sale. The 3-pound container is $13, with seven varieties to choose from. Delivery date is August 12. Orders will be taken thru July 26. To order, call the Fulton County Medical Center registration desk and leave information.
