New Jersey Man Cited For DUI

A Malaga, N.J., man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and additional traffic offenses following a twovehicle collision at the entrance to Phantom Fireworks along Buck Valley Road.

Fifty-year-old Robert Wayne Smith was arrested by state police in connection with the accident on Friday, July 2. Smith was reportedly travelling eastbound on Buck Valley Road at a high rate of speed and collided with a Ford Ranger operated by 59-year-old Michael Farrell of Washington, D.C., at 11:51 p.m. Farrell, police noted, was making a left-hand turn onto Buck Valley Road from the business’ parking lot when the crash occurred.

Both Smith and Farrell suffered minor injuries in the crash. Smith was not utilizing a seat belt. State police were assisted on the scene by the Needmore Volunteer Fire Co., EMS and fire police.
