Area Students Scholarships

Black Black Students from the area who were recipients of scholarship to attend Shippensburg University are:

Arielle Black, daughter of Cragle Black of Williamsport, Md., and Carol Exline of Warfordsburg, is the recipient of the Lynn G. and Evelyn R. Walck Memorial Scholarship. She is a 2010 graduate of Southern Fulton Black High School and has not chosen a major yet.

Brenna Elaine DeShong, daughter of Alan and Lisa De-Shong of Harrisonville, is the recipient of a Valedictorian Board of Governors Schoalrship. She is a 2010 graduate of McConnellsburg High School DeShong where she was the valedictorian. She plans to major in mathematics with secondary education certification.

Chase Duckwall, son of Gary Duckwall and Rose M. Shives of Needmore, is the recipient of the Highmark Scholarship. He is a 2010 DeShong DeShong graduate of Southern Fulton School where he was president of the National Honor Society Duckwall and vice president of the senior class.

Dakota Ritz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Ritz of Warfordsburg, is the recipient of the Salutatorian Board of Governor Scholarship. He is a 2010 graduate of Southern Fulton High School where he was a state finalist in the Voice of Ritz Democracy Speech, president of Student Council and active in the Envirothon and Spanish clubs. He plans to major in computer software engineering.
