The family of Paul and Jane MacDonald were together for the first time in eight years in Ocean City, Md., recently. All the family members were present. They celebrated special events such as a college graduation and high school graduation, a master’s degree, a wedding engagement and RN degrees. The children came from Montana, Florida and different parts of Pennsylvania.

Jane Lininger, Michelle and Matt Hill spent time with Michael Hill in Missouri last week and visited different tourist attractions.

A benefit was held on Saturday at the Burnt Cabins Grist Mill for Bobby Hall, who is recovering from cancer. His prognosis looks promising. More than 400 people attended.

Tim McGarvey has returned to work after being unable to work for a couple of months. His health ahs greatly improved in the last month.

Charlotte Crouse of Hustontown is at home recuperating after having lung surgery recently in Chambersburg Hospital.

Junior and Hannelore Hann will observe their 20th wedding anniversary on July 7.

Sympathy goes out to the families of Bryan Seiders, Andy Anderson, Faye Snyder and John Eader, who all passed away last week. Also to the families of Chris Connor and Carl Peck.

Ruth Bolinger visited with her son, Randy, and wife Cheryl in Williamsburg, Va., recently.

Congratulations to Jeramy and Jenny Culler on the birth of a daughter, Adalynn Aileen, on June 21 in Waynesboro Hospital. She has an older sister, Madisyn Grace-Ann.

Ida Strait fell recently, breaking her wrist, and underwent surgery in Chambersburg.

The Class of 1990 of Mc- Connellsburg High School held its 20th reunion on Saturday night at American Legion picnic grounds.

Brent and Rita Gordon celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary over thew weekend at Hickory Ridge Farm in Orrtana. They were married on June 22.

Herman and Verla Hill of Needmore attended the 76th annual Pennsylvania National Association of Postmasters of the United States at the Radisson Valley Forge Hotel in Valley Forge, Pa., June 24-28. Verla is the secretary for the state retirees organization.

It happened this week: In 1970 the first section of Atlantic City, N.J.’s Boardwalk was opened to the public.

Louise Long, Beverly Hopper and family, and Barbara Lehman visited Louise’s granddaughter, Lydia Mannion, in Pittsburgh when shopping at Ross Mall. They also went by the first Heinz ketchup factory, which is still working today.

Marvin Dodd of McConnellsburg found a 1923 sixounce Coke bottle, in good shape, in the dirt. According to antique books the value is $350. On the bottom it reads “bottled in Chambersburg, Pa.

Bass pro angler Darick Brumbaugh of Fort Littleton finished in 15th place and took home “Big Bass Honors” at the FLW Tournament held on June 19. The tourney was held at Smith Mountain Lake located in Moneta, Va. Brumbaugh’s fish weighed in at 6 pounds, 1 ounce and was caught using a drop shot rig with a sixinch worm.
