Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

The weekend sure presented us with some of that good, warm summer weather. Some of other areas got some rain, but it sort of

passed us by. passed us by.

Our sympathy is extended to the families of Grace Kuhns, the Faye Snyder family and the Chris Connor family.

Congratulations to Jeff and Sherri (Keebaugh) Boerger of Havertown, Pa., on the birth of a son May 21. Anyone who wishes to visit Jeff, Sherri and baby Alex may do so on July 3 and 4 in the afternoon at Mike and Theresa Keebaugh’s along Waterfall Road in Hustontown.

Congratulations also to Michael and Cortney (Cutchall) Keebaugh of Mesa, Ariz., on the bith of a daughter June 12.

Glad to report Betty Malot was able to return home from Chambersburg Hospital on Sunday. Hope she continues on to a full recovery.

Sorry to hear Tammy Shotts was going to Harrisburg Hospital on Sunday. Hope she will be better and home soon.

Our prayers and best wishes to Rev. Delmas Bard, who suffered a heart attack on Friday and is now a patient at York Hospital.

Karen Bennett of Roanoke, Va., visited in the Kate Berkstresser home on Sunday afternoon.

Belated happy birthday to Robert Bennett, who had a special day on Saturday, June 26. Happy birthday to Heidi Berkstreser on July 2 and Harvey Berkstresser and Maynard Black on July 4.

Congratulations to Lester and Delores Swope who celebrated their 50th anniversary last week.

Household hint: A good way to use those last little bits of soap. Slip them into a bath sponge. To make your own, take a new household sponge, use a sharp knife to slit a little pocket into the side of the sponge. Insert small slices of soap and use the sponge instead of a washcloth for showers or baths.
