FCMC Foundation Board Meets

SPECIAL TO THE NEWS

The board of directors of Fulton County Medical Center Foundation met for its quarterly meeting Monday, June 14, 2010. After welcoming the new executive director, Dr. Robert Roush, the issues the board discussed included the financial report, gifting and granting, image and public relations, campaigns, upcoming events and updates on the new patient services building. The board also adopted a balanced budget for 2010-11.

The FCMC Foundation Board gifting and granting portion of the meeting included motions to sponsor the following: the girls junior high McConnellsburg soccer, Hancock Little League and Fulton County 4-H.

In other granting news, it was announced that three health career scholarships to area seniors were given at graduation to Devin Welsh and Colby Sowers of MHS and Chase Duckwall of Southern Fulton.

Board secretary/treasurer Loy Garber reported at the Lions Club meeting April 12 that the three clubs decided to do diabetes education at all three locations with inhouse specialist Gwen Morral sometime this fall.

Executive Director Dr. Robert Roush reported on the current fundraising campaign balances as of April 30, 2010. Continuing the Dream has brought in $618,218 in donations and pledges for the patients services building. The CAMP campaign balance is just under $6,500. The “ZOOM ZOOM” campaign earmarked for the new long-term-care van is at nearly $30,000.

Roush also reported the Cheryl A. Brown Endowment Fund balance is just under $7,000 and the scholarship fund balance is $770 after the recent payout of $4,500 in scholarships for this year.

New fundraisers and future strategic plans were discussed with updates to come in the near future. In addition, the Foundation Board would also like to remind everyone of upcoming events:

FCMCF golf tournament September 18 – Great Cove Golf Course
