From The Files Of July 6, 1950 ’50 The nude and strangled body of a red-haired woman, found along the Potomac River near Berkeley Springs on May 10, has been identified

as that of Mrs. Lottie Gibson, 31-year-old of Akron, Ohio, divorcee and mother of two children. State police said, “We do not know enough yet to prefer any charges.”

A miscellaneous shower was held at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Mellott on June 16 in honor of Mr. and Mrs. George N. Mellott.

Albert Foster was installed last Tuesday as president of the McConnellsburg Lions Club.

Henry Lequear and Joanne Cook were wed July 1.

Emmert L. Miner and Doris Jean Barton were married on Sunday.

Vance Swope has been given an excellent Hampshire gilt by the McConnellsburg Lions Club, which will be the start of the “pig ring” in Fulton County.
