Ben K-5K The fifth annual Ben K-5K run/walk will be held Saturday, July 31, at 8 a.m. at Center United Methodist Church. Wells Tannery Homecoming Parade Entries Needed Wells Tannery Park Homecoming Committee is looking for antique car owners and tractor drivers to bring their vehicles to the Wells Tannery Homecoming parade July 31. FR Soccer Registration Forbes Road Area AYSO needs girls and boys between the ages of 5 and15 who are interested in playing or learning to play soccer. All team members will play at least half of every game. The $35 registration fee includes uniform. There will be four sign-up locations and dates: Thursday, July 8, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Lions Club pavilion behind Forbes Road School; Saturday, July 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at M&T’s Resale Shoppe beside the Fort Littleton turnpike exit; Thursday, July 15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Wells Tannery Park; and Saturday, July 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Twist-N-Shake on Waterfall Road. Cruisin’ For Christ Calvary Independent Baptist Church 140 McGovern’s Lane, McConnellsburg, will hold a car show event Saturday, June 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Cars, trucks, tractors, ATVs, motrocycles are welcome. Free registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Door prizes, live music, free food.

Bass Fishing Techniques Bass fishing techniques for tweens ages 8 and up with Darrick Brumbaugh will be held Friday, June 25, in the Fulton County Library Community Room at 2:00 p.m. This program event is sponsored by The Fulton County News. More information may be obtained by calling 485-5327.

Bus Trip PA-R-Pac is sponsoring a bus trip to Atlantic City July 24. Leave the Legion at 6:30 a.m. and return at 11:00 p.m. Price is $60. In return you will receive a $22 refund and a buffet. Farm Women Picnic Fulton County Society of Farm Women will have a picnic at James Buchanan’s Birthplace on July 4, at 1:00 p.m., for members and their families. Hamburgers, hot dogs and rolls will be provided; members bring own place settings and either side dishes, salads or desserts.

Bluegrass/Gospel Music Festival Bedford Chapel Church on Rt. 643, 4570 Flickerville Road, Warfordsburg, will host its annual festival on July 17, from 4:30 p.m. until 10.00 p.m. Food stand and cake walks. Entertainment provided by Richard and Mary Fox with Higher Ground, Guildford Station and By Faith Ministries Gospel Singers. Bring lawn chairs.

Fulton House Museum Display The Fulton County Historical Society has a display of old kitchen utensils and local needlework at the Fulton House on temporary loan. Summer hours are every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with additional hours by request. The exhibit is free and includes the society’s permanent museum collection plus books, shirts and other items available for purchase.

Car Show McConnellsburg Alumni and Friends Association, formerly the Fulton-Franklin Car Club, will hold a benefit car show Saturday, July 10, at McConnellsburg High School. Registration will be 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Trophies awarded to top 50 vehicles, plus three special awards. Breakfast and lunch will be served, 50-50 drawing, Chinese auction plus a vendor craft show. Raindate is July 11, 2010. All cars, trucks, motorcycles are welcome. Path Valley Picnic The 103rd Path Valley Picnic and Homecoming will be held rain or shine August 18-21 at Hammond’s Grove, Route 75, north of Spring Run. Sponsored by Fannett-Metal Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Co. Free admission and parking.

Bus Trip A bus trip is planned for August 10 by the North End Garden Club to Shalom Rodef Biblical Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh. Great Cove Baseball School Great Cove Baseball School is for players ages 8-12 years of age to learn baseball fundamentals. The school is set for July 5, 6, 7 and 8 at the Fulton County Little League field located in Lions Community Park, McConnellsburg. The sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and wrap up at 3:00 p.m. Lunch is provided. Free T-shirts and prizes awarded. The instructors are Bob Thomas, Chambersburg High School baseball coach; Rod Bennett, Frederick Community College baseball coach and Loy Garber, McConnellsburg High School baseball coach (retired). Bus Trip American Celebrations bus to the Longaberger Homestead will be Saturday, June 26. Leaving from the Mc- Connellsburg Firehall at 6:00 a.m. Arrival at home approximately 11:00 p.m. Trip cost is $80 which includes roundtrip transportation, breakfast on the bus, snacks and drinks on the bus, movies, games and fun. Very exclusive baskets to be given away on the bus. Special events at the Homestead. Anyone bringing five guests gets a special prize. Trip benefits the McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co. Line Dance Fulton County Line Dance Club will hold line dance sessions every Wednesday (except the first Wednesday of the month) beginning at 7:00 p.m. at VFW Post 655, Poplar Street, McConnellsburg. All are welcome. Come and learn some new steps. A $2 donation is appreciated.

Pottery Art Camp Moon Dog Pottery in Welsh Run will hold an art camp to introduce children to a variety of artistic activities designed to develop ability and creativity for children ages 6-15. Students are asked to bring a bag lunch. Daily snacks and drinks provided as well as daily physical activities and games to round out their day. Summer Art Camp Kids will be painting, sculpting and creating just like their favorite artist. The jungle-themed camp will have the kids drawing animals, going on nature walks, sketching plants, learning about bugs and making artwork from other cultures. The camp will be held July 27, 28 and 29 at the T.W.E.P. building on the James Buchanan campus, Mercersburg. Cost is $55.
