Wilda M. Clark Fort Loudon, 83

Wilda M. Clark, 83, Fort Loudon, Pa., died Monday, June 14, 2010, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg.

She was born in Buck Valley, Pa., on February 17, 1927, the daughter of the late William G. and Bessie (Keefer) Wertz.

She was a member of Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg, Pa. She was also member of the Fort Loudon Community Center, the Detrich-Brechbill St. Thomas American Legion, and Mercersburg Sportsman Ladies Auxillary, where she was a past president.

She worked as a waitress in her earlier years, then was a homemaker. She loved baking and cooking for her family and friends.

She was the widow of James E. Clark, who preceded her in death on September 28, 1979.

She is survived by a son, Randy J. Clark, husband of Barbara, Fort Loudon; a daughter, Brenda K. Hayes of Colombia, Tenn.; a sister, Louise R. McDowell, wife of Tom, of Chambersburg, Pa.; a brother,Wallace Wertz, Warfordsburg; two foster children: Richard Carbaugh of Florida and Carl Beltz of St. Thomas; and a grandaughter, Carmen Wickman of New York. She also helped raise 21 other foster children.

She was preceded in death by brothers: Marlis, Ray and Bernard G. Wertz, and a sister, Virginia Stull

Services will be at Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18. Pastor Karen Ford will officiate.

Friends are invited to call Thursday, June 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lininger- Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg, Pa.

Interment will be at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
