From The Files Of June 25, 1970 ’70 Rev. Cyril S. Fowler, 62, of Mercersburg, died Sunday evening of a heart attack during the services at the Pentecostal Full Gospel Church
in McConnellsburg, which he had served as pastor for a number of years. Rev. Fowler had suffered a mild heart attack three weeks earlier and, although he continued to attend church, the services on Sunday were being conducted by the Rev. Gregory Miller, a visiting minister, who was preaching at the time Rev. Fowler collapsed.
Dennis Snow, 21, Fort Loudon, was killed last Thursday at about 4:00 p.m. when the car in which he was riding collided with another on Route 30 near St. Thomas. Snow was a passenger in a car driven by Lewis Ramsey, 16, of Hustontown, which was travelling west on Route 30. The car went out of control and crossed the highway into the path of an eastbound car driven by Ester Belle Zeis of Fort Loudon. Miss Zeis and Ramsey were admitted to the intensive care unit of the Chambersburg Hospital, suffering from multiple injuries received in the crash. Snow was a son of Mrs. Virginia Snow Fortney of Fort Littleton and the late James Snow.
Eugene Long, son of Mr. and Mrs. Darl Long, has accepted employment with the Department of Interior, Recreation Maintenance, in the state of Wyoming for the summer. He will be a senior at Penn State this fall, majoring in forestry.
Daryl Mellott, 28, Mercersburg, is listed in critical condition in the Harrisburg Hospital following an industrial accident last week at the Letterkenny Army Depot.
Miss Rosalind Williams was one of 83 graduates at the Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing on Sunday, June 14. She has accepted a position on the staff of the Fulton County Medical Center.
Frances Mellott, wife of Capt. Jerre Mellott of Clinton, Md., graduated from the State Beauty Academy in Suteland, Md., on June 11. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wal- ter Mellott of Hustontown and plans to conduct a business in Fulton County upon Capt. Mellott’s retirement from the U.S. Air Force.
Sandra Mae Glunt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Glunt of Burnt Cabins, graduated on June 14 from the Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing.
