Receives Military Excellence Award

Justin Levi Gordon, Mc- Connellsburg, a Penn State University Army ROTC Cadet, received the American Legion Post 245 Military Excellence Award on Friday, April 30, 2010.

This award is given to the Outstanding Cadet who demonstrates the requisite qualities of leadership and academic success. Justin earned a 3.48 GPA and will be a sophomore this fall at the Penn State University Main Campus, majoring in crime, law and justice. He is also a member of the PSU Army ROTC Ranger Challenge Club.

In February 2010, he contracted with the PA Army National Guard. Pvt. Gordon left on Monday, May 24, for basic combat training at the United States Army Infantry School in Fort Benning, Ga. He has been assigned to the Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment. Family and friends are encouraged to write to him and may do so to the following address:

Justin is the son of Brent and Rita Gordon of Mc- Connellsburg and the grandson of Donnie and Phyllis Gordon and Frank and Connie Shives, all of McConnellsburg.
