Strawberry Festival Set For This Weekend

The Fulton County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism invites you to join it for the 20th annual Strawberry Festival June 11 and 12. Activities are scheduled to get under way at 10 a.m. on both days, running until 9 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Lots of strawberry treats will be featured at the chamber’s booth, along with various delicious food items on sale at the vendor booths at the old Fulton County Medical Center parking lot.

Friday night features The Country Christians in concert beginning at 6 pm. The popular local amateur talent show gets under way at 7:30 pm., followed by more music by The Country Christians. Anyone wishing to enter the talent show should register by calling the chamber office at 485- 4064. Contestants will be competing for prizes and medals. Independent judges are stationed throughout the audience. This event is sponsored by Tower Bank.

Saturday’s events are highlighted by the exciting hot dog eating contest that starts at noon. It is sponsored this year by All-Things Automotive. Only eight contestants are eligible to enter. Anyone wanting to compete should contact the chamber office.

On Friday, beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing through the lunch hour, visitors to the festival will be entertained by the music of The Country Cousins.

This year’s festival is adding more things to do: a new and improved baby contest, kids coloring contest, strawberry recipe contest, a best vendor booth contest, plus lots more. More information may be obtained by calling the chamber office at 485-4064.
