Named 2010 Women In Business Advocate Of The Year

Deb Hamil Toothman of McConnellsburg, has been named the 2010 Women in Business Advocate of the Year by the Saint Francis University.

Toothman was honored on Wednesday, June 9, by the University in Loretta, Pa. Some criteria for this award include: individuals who have fulfilled a commitment to the advancement of women’s business ownership, efforts to increase business and financial opportunities for women, voluntary efforts to strengthen the role of women business owners within the community, accomplishments demonstrating effectiveness in improving the environment for the creation and expansion of businesses owned and operated by women and overall advocacy of women-owned business community wide.

Deb’s nominee, Michael Crampton of Everett Marble and Granite and Crampton Manor Bed and Breakfast, will be attending the awards ceremony as well as friends and family.

In 1986, Helen Overly and Freda Raker were recognnized as the Small Business Persons of the Year.
