Improvements Planned For Lions Club Park

The McConnellsburg Lions Club is in the midst of putting the finishing touches to its community park. One remaining project is to convert the 14,400-squarefoot old tennis court surface into a first-class practice and play facility for baseball, softball, tennis and golf.

The successful completion of this exciting addition to the park can provide the following advantages for youngsters and adults: cages to practice baseball and softball hitting, a cage for golfers to improve their swing, a tennis court and storage area as well as a safe place to improve skills, exercise and have fun. Also planned for the area is a sturdy fence enclosure plus the installation of a hightech camera security system.

A campaign is now under way to obtain contributions from individuals and groups that would like to help the community park and its Little League Sports Complex continue to be the finest in our region. All donations, regardless of their amount, are greatly appreciated.

The fundraising campaign offers various sponsorship level of giving. Contributors’ names will be appropriately displayed at the park. For additional information, contact either Don Fowler or Loy Garber.

Each year hundreds of young people and their families use the Lions Community Park. Please consider becoming a part of its growth and enhancement.
