Dr. Roush will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Foundation. He has an extensive background in working with healthcare foundations. Fulton County Medical Center Foundation board Vice Chair Helen Overly commented on his seasoned, hands-on experience with all types of fundraising and management, saying, “Dr. Roush brings us the expertise and experience to move our Foundation to the next level in growth and development, both within the Medical Center and throughout the community.”
According to a press release issued by Fulton County Medical Center, Roush has a master’s degree in nonprofit administration, a Ph.D. in complementary and alternative healthcare, and has obtained the certified fundraising professionals certification. He has thorough experience in all aspects of fundraising, from annual giving and special events to major gifts, along with formal grants to the government and private sectors. He also enjoys working with and motivating volunteers. He has successfully planned and conducted major capital campaigns of $100 million.
Roush replaces Cheryl Brown who served as the center’s director of community relations and development. In that position, Brown reported to FCMC CEO Jason Hawkins. As the executive director of the FCMC Foundation, Roush will report directly to the Foundation’s board of directors.
Foundation Board Chairman Spence Perry states, “Dr. Roush comes at a crucial moment in the history of the Foundation for it is now that the long-term goals of the Foundation will be formulated and implemented. The emphasis will shift from capital support to hospital program endowment, community wellness, education and training of our Fulton Countybased healthcare team.
