Cadets Report For Camp Cadet
Thirty-five cadets, 20 males and 15 females, between the ages of 12-15, were selected from the county’s three school districts and reported for the weeklong camping session sponsored jointly by the Pennsylvania State Police at the McConnellsburg station and by the county’s social services agencies and schools. Four senior cadets from previous graduating classes were also chosen as mentors for the incoming cadets.
This year’s weeklong activities will culminate on Friday evening, June 11, with a lakeside graduation ceremony to be held at 6:00 p.m. The Honorable Judge Angela Krom of the Court of Common Pleas of the 39th Judicial District, will deliver this year’s graduation address.
The public is invited to attend Friday evening’s graduation ceremonies to celebrate the cadets’ achievements.
Campers will spend the week in four squads. Squad leaders will be Pennsylvania State Police officers and representatives from local social services agencies.
This year, 14 students from Southern Fulton, 11 from Forbes Road and 10 from Central Fulton have been chosen to participate.
The cadets reported to the following squads on Sunday:
Blue Squad (with squad leaders Trooper Joe Horton and Brent Pistner: Aaron Waters, Connor Johnson, Dylan Everts, Dakota Jones, Michael Sechrist, Reva Souders, Arica Carbaugh, Porsha McCarty and Dakota Stanley. The senior cadet for the Blue Squad will be Timothy Mottern.
Green Squad (with squad leaders Cpl. William Baker, Chris McQuade and Trooper Ken Falkosky): Tristan Gelvin, Bradlee Shank, Jacob Jessee, Jonathan Leasure, Zachary Peck, Miriah Hamil, Sierra Carbaugh, Kaitlyn Kinzer and Alexandra Treml. The senior cadet for the Green Squad will be Macey Hollenshead.
Red Squad (with squad leaders Trooper Roger Sheffield, Ann Sheffield and Trooper Jeff Remeikas): Brandon Clingerman, Nicholas Cain, Robert Jessee, Jonathan Martz, Chandler Shimer, Alexandria Rexroth, Alyce Gladfelter and Emilee Sipes The senior cadet for the Red Squad will be Morgan Strait.
Purple Squad (with squad leaders Trooper Jim Lupey, Lori Lupey and Cpl. Sean Flaherty): Jeffrey Everts, Levi Dixon, Macklin Hawkins, Sabastian Myers, Alex Slates, Mersedez Souders, Cora Wilt, Bridgette Hoffman and Ariel Smith. The senior cadet for the Purple Squad will be Jacob Pryor.
The Fulton County Camp Cadet Association’s board of directors includes Cpl. William Baker, president; Randy Clever, vice president; Christine McQuade, secretary; Lori Lupey, treasurer; and board members Jack Rhodes, Don Eisaman, Brent Pistner, Judy Eisaman, Nancy Younker, Diane Younker, troopers Jeff Remeikas and Joe Horton.
