A field of 64 competed Sunday in the men’s annual member-guest tournament at Great Cove.
Mike Kendall and guest Craig Wagner, 62, were the low net winners, followed in second by Dave Vance and guest Tom Klich, 62. Thirdplace winners were John Mixell and guest Roy Barnett, at 63.
All ties were broken by a match of cards in memberguest competition.
Closest-to-the-pin prizes on par-3 holes went to Brian Henderson, No. 4; Adam Frank, No. 6; Kenny Welsh, No. 12; and Matt Sigel, No. 16.
Closet-to-the-pin in two shots on par-4 holes were won by Pierce Miller on Great Cove’s No. 8 and Bob Paruch on No. 18.
Longest drives were awarded to Caley Zahn on the par-5 ninth hole and Dave Vance on Great Cove’s long par-5 17th hole.
In men’s league action, after eight weeks of play, Clark Brant and Buzz Carmack remain at the top of the leader board with 45.5 points. Holding on to the number two spot are Vance McClain and Del Fraker at 44 points, and close behind, hanging on to third, are Bob Snyder and Dale Keebaugh with 43.5 points.
Harold Batdorf won week eight’s closest-to-the-pin competition on on Great Cove’s par-3 12th hole, and winner of the longest putt on the 18th hole was Dex Spencer.
Low net individual winners in week five of women’s league play are Cindy Blair, 31; Kim Sheeder and Kay Wagner, 33; and Sue Mayhugh, 34.
Winners of week five’s special event – five lowest holes – were Pam Arnold, Betty Boyle, and Kim Sheeder, 14; Cindy Blair and Sue Mayhugh, 15; and Deana Everhart, Lois O’Donnell and Kay Wagner, 16.
Leading women’s league in overall competition are Cindy Blair, 57 points; Kim Sheeder, 36 points; and Kay Wagner, 34 points.
Next up at Great Cove are ABCD tournies, one for men and one for women, this Sunday; the Forrest Mellott Memorial on June 19; and a Father’s Day event on June 20. Great Cove’s biggest tournament of the year, the Riggs Open, is scheduled for July 11.
