The weekend weather was great and made for a nice time to picnic or whatever.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Earl McDaid, who passed away Saturday. Also our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Kermit Heefner, who passed away. He was formerly from Hustontown.

We have some June birthdays, so belated happy birthday to Ron Spade, June 1; Gracie Mellott, June 1; Naomi Walker, June 2; Drew Mellott, June 3; Marian Evans, June 4; Joyce Brennan, June 7; Christopher Gress, June 10; and Tish Hockensmith, June 14.

Robert and June Bennett have returned home after spending about 10 days in Alaska.

We hear LaRue Shaw has been in the hospital for a few days. We hope by now she has been able to return home fully recovered.

Household hint: Strawberries grown in narrow rows produce more fruit than those grown in wide rows because the ones in the middle of the wide row suffer from shading.
