From The Files Of June 22, 1950 ’50 A 55-year-old Warfordsburg man has been charged with the shotgun slaying of his younger brother on June 16 at 11:00 p.m.

Announcement was made this week that the H-P Stores of Oakland, Md., have purchased the New Store in Mc- Connellsburg and Hancock. The new owners have already assumed management, and Eugene Nordeck of Oakland will be in charge of the local store. The H-P organization now operates 13 stores in Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Harvey H. Clevenger has been re-elected chairman of the Fulton County Republican Committee.

Four Boy Scouts from McConnellsburg: Donald Clevenger, George Cline, Fred Headley and Harry Johnston Jr., with Rev. Mark B. Michael as scoutmaster, will attend the second National Boy Scout Jamboree at historic Valley Forge June 30 to July 6.

Alvin Swope and Grace Strait were married June 16. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chambers of Burnt Cabins announce the birth of a son on June 8.
