Great Cove Men’s League standings after seven weeks of play show Clark Brant and Buzz Carmack still in first place with 41 points. Hanging on to second place at 37.5 points are Vance McClain and Del Fraker, followed closely by Bob Snyder and Dale Keebaugh with 37 points.

Jeff Poffenberger won week seven’s closest-to-thepin competition on the par 3 number 4 hole, and Foster Earley went home the winner of the longest putt on number 9.

In the fourth week of Great Cove Women’s League play, Cindy Blair leads in overall competition with 42 points. Second-place leader is Deana Everhart at 28 points, followed in third place by Kay Wagner with 26 points.

Low net winners for the week were Wagner, 34; Kim Sheeder, 36; Everhart, 37; and Blair, 37. Ladies winning week four’s special competition, low net on odd holes, were Wagner, 16; Blair, 17; Amy Hicks, 17; Laura Blair, 18; and Tammy Rank, 18.

A point systerm using low net and weekly event competion scores determines overall rankings for Women’s League golfers.

There’s still time to sign up for the annual memberguest tournament this Sunday. Deadline to register is Thursday evening. Great Cove’s PGA pro Jon Stennett said that as of Tuesday about 60 players are onboard to play.

Other upcoming tournaments include an ABCD for members on June 13; the Forest Mellott Memorial, one of the season’s biggest tournies, on June 19; and a Father’s Day event on June 20.
