Categorical Exclusion From The State Environmental Review Process

Pigeon Cove dairy farm manure management project

Funding has been requested from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PennVest) by the Fulton County Conservation District for nonpoint source pollution control improvements at the Pigeon Cove Dairy (Palmer) Farm in Bethel Township. The project will provide improved manure storage facilities that will allow spreading at the right time of the year. PennVest program requirements include an environmental review. The environmental review process allows an exclusion from the requirement to prepare an environmental report if the project is unlikely to involve negative environmental impacts. This project appears to qualify. The program, however, requires that the public have an opportunity to comment on the project. No action will therefore be taken on the funding action until after this notice is complete. A detailed description of the project is available for review during business hours at the address below. Anyone who has comments or concerns on the project is encouraged to send them in writing to the following by July 2, 2010:

Seleen Shives, Project Manager, Fulton County Conservation District, 216 N. Second St., Suite 15, Mc- Connellsburg, PA 17233, seleen_ fccd@pa.net
