Police: Tailgating Dad Left Girl, 6, At Restaurant
PITTSBURGH (AP) – An Ohio man is facing child endangerment charges after police say he left his 6-yearold daughter at a Pittsburgh restaurant while he tailgated before a Pirates game.
Police say 42-year-old Robert Strohmeyer, of Columbus, Ohio, left his daughter inside a restaurant near PNC Park on Saturday. Investigators say he was with his girlfriend and two children, then got into an argument with the woman.
Authorities say she left, then Strohmeyer left with his 8-year-old son, giving his daughter $6 to pay for food. Police say the older child later returned to retrieve the girl while Strohmeyer drank in a nearby parking lot.
Strohmeyer was arraigned Sunday and held on $2,000 bail. It was not clear if he had an attorney.
The children were released to the girlfriend with their mother’s permission.
