Special Historical Observance On Sunday, May 30, at the 11 a.m. worship service of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, the congregation will observe the deeding of land to the church by Daniel and Mary McConnell in May of 1798. The deed was recently discovered and the congregation is planning to pause each year on or near the May 30 signing date of the deed to honor its special connection to the founder of McConnellsburg. Representatives of the Fulton County Historical Society will be present to receive a commemorative donation that symbolizes the original payment of 10 English pounds for the property. Members of the community are invited to share in this special historical observance.

Bible School Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, 12941 Buck Valley Road, Warfordsburg, will hold Vacation Bible School June 13-17 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for ages 3 through high school. Bible School Rock Hill Mennonite Church will hold Vacation Bible School titled “Hero Headquarters” where kids join forces with God on June 14-18 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Classes will be available for preschool thru teens. The church is located two miles south of McConnellsburg on Rt. 522, turn right onto Back Run Road and left onto Rock Hill Road.

River Oaks Helpline A Christian crisis counseling/prayer phone line is now available. Caring and compassionate Christian volunteers are available from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily to listen, pray with you and help to find solutions for the challenges you are facing. Pickin’ And Praisin’ It is pickin’ and praisin’ time at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church. The annual event will be held Saturday, June 5, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The featured guests for the evening are “The Bumbaugh Family.” Please plan to join in for a chicken barbecue, kids games, silent auction, bake sale and cake walks. Summer Church Schedule McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church announces its return to a summer schedule beginning June 6 with no Sunday School and worship starting at 10:00 a.m. All are invited to join in during those times. Memorial Service The annual Timber Ridge Cemetery Assoc. memorial service will be held June 6 at 2:00 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Roger Truax. Special music will be provided by Winston Manning. All are invited to attend.

Memorial Service Damascus Cemetery Assoc. will hold its annual memorial services at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 30. Rev. Duane Jensen and the Praise Team of Hancock Methodist Church will provide the message and special music. Lunch will be served at noon in the social room of the church. All are welcome.
