Says 91-Year-Old Father Legally Incapacitated

Collar-Bomb Suspect Wants Dad’s Finances Guarded

ERIE, Pa. (AP) – The Pennsylvania woman accused of masterminding a bank robbery plot involving a bomb strapped to the neck of a pizza delivery driver wants her father declared incapacitated.

Prosecutors say Marjorie Diehl- Armstrong planned the scheme so she could hire a hit man to kill her father as part of a dispute over her inheritance. Now she wants an independent guardian appointed to oversee his finances.

In a petition filed earlier this month, Diehl-Armstrong asked a judge to declare her 91-yearold father legally incapacitated.

Diehl-Armstrong is awaiting trial on charges she masterminded the August 2003 Erie bank robbery plot that ended with the death of pizza driver Brian Wells. She is currently serving seven to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty but mentally ill to killing her boyfriend in 2003.
