Forbes Road Stages “Grease”
In a first for the high school, Forbes Road presented the musical “Grease” Friday and Saturday night, May 7 and 8. Performing to sold out audiences, juniors Kylynne Fraker and Carson Walter played the iconic ’50s teenagers Sandy Dumbrowski and Danny Zuko of fictional Rydell High School. A large supporting cast and ensemble helped recreate the high school days of a bygone era in song and dance.
Forbes Principal Christina Ramsey, a Mc- Connellsburg High School alumnus, directed the play with assistants Eric Rubenstein and Stephanie Beckner, two teachers at Forbes. Sherry Foor of the Sherry Foor Dance Studio in Everett was choreographer, and Cynthia Robinette, music teacher at Forbes, was music director.
In program notes, the director/principal extended deepest appreciation to a multitude of organizations and individuals who supported the endeavor with time, donations and encouragement and for all who worked behind the scenes. Among those, the McConnellsburg and Everett drama clubs were mentioned for having loaned equipment and props to Forbes in an interscholastic show of support for their thespian counterparts.
Appreciative and enthusiastic audiences on both nights rendered the show a big success.
