Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

The weather for the weekend was great. A lot of folks were traveling through town with their boats out for that great boating in the great weather.

I wish to thank everyone for their cards and gifts to help me celebrate my birthday.

Herbert and Tammy Berkstresser, Herbie Jr., Tabith and children spent the weekend in Baltimore at a bow shoot.

We send get well wishes to Charlotte Crouse, who is having some physical problems, so we keep her in your prayers.

By the time these items have come out in the paper, I hope everyone took the time to go out and vote on Tuesday. We sometimes think why take the time? Anyway, every vote counts to help put the person of your choice on the ballot in the fall.

Visitors in the home of Kate Berkstresser on Saturday were Martha and Katherine Berkstresser. On Saturday evening were John and Heidi Peck and children, and on Sunday were Bob and June Bennett, James Bennett and daughter Madison of Carlisle.

Open stage will be at Hustontown Firehall on Saturday evening. Kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. and entertainment at 6:00 p.m. Go out to eat and enjoy the evening.

Forbes Road held its prom on Saturday evening at the American Legion. Crowned as king and queen were Trent Black and Raven Whitman.

Household hint: To stop ants from invading the house, sprinkle a few crumbled bay leaves on windowsills. If ants flock to your flour and sugar bins, place a couple of bay leave inside and replace them every month.
