Carwash Rehoboth New Life youth will be sponsoring a carwash Satudray, May 15, starting at 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Donations will be made for Haiti relief. A youth night will follow the carwash at 6:00 p.m. The church is located at 8323 Great Cove Road in Needmore across from the firehall.

Variety Show Cast Needed Would you like to be a part of the summer community variety musical Friday and Saturday, July 23 and 24, at 7:00 p.m.? Everyone is invited to be a part of the cast and crew. Due to schedule conflicts and God’s leading, the summer community musical “Children of Eden” has been changed to a variety show and the weekend has been changed. Various acts such as comedy, drama, choral numbers, interpretive dance, praise bands, etc., are needed. The weekend will include a meal, games, an encounter room, etc. Anyone interested in being a part of the show or the weekend activities should call 717-485-4050 or 717- 485-4318 by Monday, May 17.

Decorating Graves American Legion Post 155 in Artemas will be decorating veterans graves Memorial Day weekend at the following churches: Sunday, May 30 - Robinsonville, 1:30 p.m.; Stevens Chapel, 1:45 p.m.; Rock Hill, 2:15 p.m.; Clearville Union, 2:30 p.m.; Pleasant Union, 2:45 p.m.; Zion Lutheran, 3:00 p.m.; Frame Church, 3:15 p.m.; Chaneysville Community, 3:45 p.m.; Prosperity, 4:15 p.m. and Mt. Zion, 4:45 p.m.; Monday, May 31 - Shreves Chapel, 10:00 a.m.; Bethel Christian, 10:20 a.m.; Fairview Church, 10:40 a.m.; and memorial services at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Day services will be held at the legion, located on Big Creek Road, next to the community park at 11:00 a.m. The ladies auxiliary will serve lunch around noon and special music will be at 2:00 p.m. Balloons, face painting, crafts and door prizes.

Elder Law Free Info Fulton County Medical Center Support Group Services will present a free information on elder law, estate planning and probate/estate administration on June 8, in the Barmont 3 conference room, Fulton County Medical Center, 214 Peach Orchard Road, McConnellsburg. FR Book Fair All are welcome to attend the Forbes Road Book Fair May 27 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. outside the Forbes Road cafeteria. Scholastic books are buy one, get one free and used books will be on sale at a reduced cost. Baked goods and beverages for sale. There will also live entertainment.

McConnellsburg FFA Plant Sale McConnellsburg FFA plant sale will be held May 3- 20, Monday to Friday, 9:45 a.m to noon; and Saturday, May 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. An excellent selection of herbs, bedding pants, vegetable plants, hanging baskets, perennials and patio containers. Sold on first-come, first-served basis. Six packs, $1.75; hanging baskets, $8; 4-inch pots, $1.50; specialty pots starting at $15. Can Drive Fulton County Community Cavaliers 4-H group is having its first aluminum can drive during the month of May. Donations can be dropped off at Dibert’s Metal along Route 522 north during regular business hours. All proceeds will go to a local mental health organization. Book, Plant, Bake Sale Fulton County Library will hold a book, plant and bake sale May 14 and 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 227 North First Street, McConnellsburg. Lunch stand will only be available Friday. Proceeds will be matched by the Modern Woodman of America.

Support Group Are you the parent or caregiver of a child with special needs? Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed or alone? Fulton County Center for Families is sponsoring a support group for parents of children with special needs. The group will be held at the Head Start building in Mc- Connellsburg on May 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Clear Ridge Methodist Church Anniversary Clear Ridge United Methodist Church is now making plans to celebrate its 150th year anniversary during the month of October 2010. Anyone who may have information, pictures or stories regarding local history of the church, surrounding community, stores or schools, please call 717-987-3266. It is hoped to develop a narrative history of the church and surrounding community of significant events over the past 150 years. The members are interested in families who have contributed to the community.

Book Signing A book signing by local author Michael Henry will be held Friday and Saturday, May 14 and 15, at the Fulton County Library in McConnellsburg.

Public Focus Group Session Tri-State Community Health Center is holding a Community Public Focus Group session on Wednesday, May 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the community room of Community State Bank at 415 Fulton Drive, McConnellsburg. The purpose of the meeting is to obtain critically important business and service information that will greatly help establish Tri-State Community Health Center’s strategic plans for the next two years. The forum is open to, and focused on, input from the general public, including all residents in surrounding communities to McConnellsburg, as well as Tri-State patients.
