HAVFCO Open Stage Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire co. will sponsor an open stage Saturday, May 22, at 6:00 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5:00 p.m. Come out and share talents or just come out and spend an enjoyable evening visiting with old friends and making new ones.

Golf Tournament The Fulton County Community Christian School will host the Ninth Annual Forrest R. Mellott Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Great Cove Golf Course, McConnellsburg, Pa. This tournament will be a four-person scramble with a shotgun start beginning at 8:00 a.m. Top prize for the tournament is $1,000. Poker Run A motorcycle poker run will be held June 6 at Broad Top Community Center, 21125 Broad Street, Broad Top. Registration is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the day of the event and riders will ride to the Flight 93 crash site. There will be cash prizes, door prizes, raffles and 50/50 drawing. Live Show At Coal Miner’s Museum A live show featuring Fay Bolinger, Orvis Wagner, Frank Pannebaker on guitar on stage at the Reality Theatre, Robertsdale, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Coal Miner’s Museum. Come enjoy fun, singing and dancing. Concession stand will be open. Donation is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

Softball Camp A softball camp will be held June 14-16, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Camp will be free to all girls ages 7-14 playing on any BiValley girls softball team ($30 for others). Camp concludes with a bus trip to Shippensburg Univeristy to watch the 2010 PIAA softball championship games on June 18. Career Camp The Fulton County Area Vocational School will be offering a free Career Camp on June 10, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the McConnellsburg High School campus, for youths entering grades 7 thru 9 during the 2010-2011 school year. Youth may select two areas of career concentration out of the following: agriculture, allied health, childcare, carpentry, business occupations, drafting and design and welding. Lunch will be provided to all participants.

Youth Day Mason Dixon Chapter of Hunters Helping Kids will be having its annual youth day on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the Fulton Country Pistol And Rifle Range. Registration will began at 8:30 a.m. and activities start at 9:00 a.m. A light breakfast will be served along with lunch. Children will be taught crossbow, 22 clay pigeons, as well as PSP and many more to be announced. Needmore Fire Co. will be there as there will be a mock tree stand accident. Sportsmen’s League Open House Fulton County Sportsmen’s League will be holding its annual open house and fishing rodeo for children 12 and younger at the trout nursery on Sunday, May 23. Fishing will start at noon and the drawing for the spring raffle will be at 3:00 p.m. The food stand will have a variety of foods available, including roast pork sandwiches, bean soup, hamburgers and hot dogs.

Football/Cheerleading Registration Youth football and cheerleading registration for Fulton County Cowboys for ages 5-12 will be held Sunday, June 27 and July 18, at the American Legion in McConnellsburg from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. More information may be obtained by calling Hollie at 717-658-3563 or Damon at 301-573-1139.

Kids Fun Day Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church’s monthly Kids’ Fun Day will be held Saturday, May 22. It will be a “day on the farm.” The group will travel to a local dairy farm so children under the age of 4 are required to be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Faith Center at 10:00 a.m. and return to the church by 12:30 p.m. More information may be obtained by calling 717-294-3482.

Strawberry Festival Fulton County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism invites all to the 20th annual Strawberry Festival June 11 and 12. Activities are scheduled to get under way at 10:00 a.m. on both days, lasting until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lots of strawberry treats will be featured at the chamber’s booth, along with various delicious food items on sale at the vendor booths at the old Fulton County Medical Center parking lot. Vendors spaces are still available. Check the chamber Web site for an application or stop by the chamber office. Also any individuals or groups who would like to request a time slot on either Friday or Saturday to provide entertainment, contact the chamber office at 485-4064.

Free Youth Shoots Free youth shoots for .22 rifle and shotgun will be held at Fulton County Rifle and Pistol Club. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 6:30 p.m. every Friday night in May. Open to youths 16 and younger. Rifles and shells will be furnished. Winners nightly and kitchen open. Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Dance A dance will be held Friday, May 21, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Hancock Community Center, West High Street, Hancock. Donations are free and benefit the Hancock Arts Council. More information may be obtained by calling 301-678-5084.

Trap Shooting Trap shooting will be held at Fulton County Pistol & Rifle Club, with practice every Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. Also the third Sunday of each month starting at noon with 10 target warmup and 100 target shoot follows. These shoots are open to the public. All are welcome.
