Lilly R. Knepper Chambersburg, 75
Lilly Rosena “Rosie” Knepper, 75, Chambersburg, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at her home.
Born December 5, 1934, in Maddensville, she was one of 12 children born to the late Clifford and Fannie Mae (Wible) Long. She was the widow of Jerre Knepper Jr., who preceded her in death April 11, 1976, after 22 years of marriage.
She was a 1953 graduate of the former Hustontown High School. She worked at Stanley Co., Hennessy’s, American Can Co., McDonald’s, and retired from Letterkenny Can Depot.
She enjoyed spending time with family, working in her flower gardens and travelling in the U.S. and abroad.
She was an active member of Salem United Brethren Church, AARP and NARFE.
She is survived by a son, Brian S. Knepper, and wife Charlene, Chambersburg; and two grandchildren: Jared and Jennifer Knepper, Chambersburg; three sisters: Violet Witter, Mc- Connellsburg, formerly of Waterfall; Dorothy Rosenberger, St. Thomas; and Viola Keefer (John), Orrstown; two brothers: Paul Long (Annie), Chambersburg, and Charles Long (Hazel), Lemasters; three sisters-inlaw: Ellen, Maxine and Velma Long, all of Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters and brothers: Freda, Raymond, Earl, Ralph and Chester Long, and Mary Fix.
Services celebrating her life were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, at Salem United Brethren Church, Chambersburg. Pastors Art Paige and Ron Cook officiated. Burial was made at Center Church Cemetery in Waterfall.
