Geraldine M. Madden McConnellsburg, 88

Geraldine Mae Madden, 88, McConnellsburg, died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at her residence.

She was born in Todd Twp., Pa., on May 23, 1921, the daughter of the late Cloyd and Edna (Raker) Marshall. She was the widow of Robert C. Madden, who preceded her in death in 1991.

She was employed for many years as an LPN at Fulton County Medical Center and also at Sagner in Mc- Connellsburg.

She was a member of the Orbisonia Chapter of Eastern Star.

She attended Cito United Methodist Church. She also attended services in the Mc- Connellsburg Elderly Housing where she was a resident. She enjoyed life to the fullest as everything was beautiful to her. She loved watching TV, reading and especially taking day trips with her family and friends. She loved all her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her friends at the McConnellsburg Elderly Housing.

She is survived by sons, George Franklin Morton Jr., husband of Bonnie, of Mt. Union, Pa.; Thomas E. Morton of Mt. Union, Pa.; a daughter, Jennifer K. DeShong, wife of Harlan, of Harrisonville, Pa.; and two brothers: Clarence Marshall of York, Pa., and Gary Marshall of Waynesboro; six grandchildren: Leslie and Layne Morton, Kim (Morton) Golden, Shawna Mc- Conaughey, Tony Deshong and Traci (Deshong) Spearly; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband George F. Morton; a brother, Carl Marshall; and a grandson, Seth Morton.

Memorial services will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., McConnellsburg, Pa., at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010, with Pastor Richard Bernhard officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
