Bags First Gobbler


Eleven-year-old Heath Hilbert of Fort Littleton shot his very first turkey, a gobbler with an 11-inch beard, on Saturday, May 1, as part of the Pennsylvania Game Commission's Youth Mentored Program. Heath was hunting with his parents Dusty and Sandy Hilbert in the Shippensburg area when he killed the bird at 8 a.m. The gobbler had three-quarter inch spurs and tipped the scales at 19 pounds.
