Annual Kids Fest Held
Families from across the county came out to Hustontown Firehall on Saturday, May 1, for the Local Interagency Coordinating Council’s Kids Fest 2010. More than 150 people showed up to join in a day of no-cost familyoriented fun.
The LICC is a group of area agencies and service providers related to the field of early childhood education. Representatives from these organizations were on hand to provide parents with information about local ECE opportunities while providing their kids with free fun activities and entertainment.
When children weren’t checking out the moon bounce, the petting zoo or the Huntingdon County Smoke House, they also took part in various crafts and activities. Many children spent time learning about bike safety, checking out the fire equipment and making bubble cones. When the heat got to be too much, they cooled down with snowcones made by Hustontown junior firemen.
Agencies that participated in this year’s events are Tri State Community Health Clinic, Sen. Eichelberger, Fulton County Medical Center, Child Care Information Services, Women In Need, UCP of South Central
