3 Rescued, 1 Missing After Boat Overturns In Pa.

DELTA, Pa. (AP) – Rescue crews from Pennsylvania and Maryland have been searching the Susquehanna River for a man missing since a boat overturned in the river near the state line.

Officials say the man was one of four people in a boat that overturned shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday just south of Peach Bottom in Lancaster county about three miles north of Conowingo Dam. Nearby boaters were able to pull three people from the river, but the fourth was lost in the swift current.

Tony Williams, assistant chief from Rawlinsville, says the river is running high and considered dangerous for recreational boating. He says a “search and rescue’’ operation was done Saturday night, but Sunday’s effort is being considered a recovery operation.
