The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Though there will be no admission charge, donations will be gladly accepted. The concert will feature both choirs plus a few special performances.

The middle school chorus opens the evening with three upbeat tunes: “Old Joe Clark,” “Like A Mighty Stream,” and “We Believe In Music.” Two slower tunes follow including the Beatles “Let It Be” and a Latin piece entitled “Deo Dicamus Gratias.” Members of the middle school county chorus will present “Bonse Aba” with Katelynn Mellott as soloist. The girls of the choir will sing and “dance” the song “Let It Be Me” and the choir concludes the middle school portion with “The Golden Age of Rock-n-Roll.”

The senior high portion will begin with an old standard, “He That Believeth,” and the Latin piece, “Benedictus.” Two art songs follow including “She Sings” and “Flower of Beauty,” the later featuring the districtchorus members plus guests.

Two show tunes continue the program: “Make Them Hear You” from Ragtime, and “On My Own” from Les Miserable, a duet featuring seniors A’leese Dickerson and Rachel Porterfield.

The pop section includes the ’50s song, “All I Have to Do is Dream,” and the ’60s “Sgt.Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band” which is a medley of Beatles selections featuring Bryce Wilford on drums. Foreign exchange student from China, Nico Wong, will sing a solo in her native tongue. The senior high portion concludes with a farewell song, “My Wish For You.”

The evening concludes as a combined choir, honoring our country with “Keep the Dream Alive, America.” Please plan to spend an evening of enjoyable music with us and help support the music program at MHS.
