Cove Mountain 4-H Club Holds Meeting

By Lindsey Randler CLUB REPORTER

Cove Mountain 4-H Club held its monthly meeting on April 15, 2010. The club held a sausage sale and sold a total of 830 pounds of sausage. The profit from the sausage sale was $755.30.

New business items discussed included the announcement that Trooper John Lupey has “show quality” goats available for purchase. They would be suitable for market or breeding shows. Anyone wanting additional information should contact Greg Strait.

Several members still owe Patty Ramsey payment for pictures from last year’s fair. If you need to know if you still owe money, please contact Bucky Garlock.

Sponsorship forms for the 2010 fair were handed out at the last meeting. They are due to the extension office by June 18. Each club member should try and get two sponsors.

All market swine and market lambs will be tagged at the Lions Club community building on June 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Steer tagging for 2011 will be with RFID tags next year. This single RFID tag will replace the FCLC flexible tag as well as the medal state tag. The RFID number may be used by a vet to issue health papers for shows.

The next meeting will be held on May 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cito Fellowship Hall.
