Birthday wishes to Lacey Anderson, Addie Barnett, Luke Reynolds, Patti Grissinger, Beth Clark, Rick Grissinger, Earl Martin, Katherine Hollibaugh, Ryan Grissinger, Barb Swope and Pam Cornelius.

Anniversary wishes to Dusty and Sandy Hilbert, Fred and Sharon Horne, Rich and Betty Heaster, and George and Naomi Winnick.

Get well wishes to Reba Campbell, Larry Houck, Huldah Streightiff, Sonny Cutshall, Althea Stains, Dick and Jessie Rhoades, and Mary Mort.

Walnut Grove Church ladies traveled to Chambersburg last weekend with a stop at the Cracker Barrel restaurant for lunch and attended the Symphony of Daffodils flower show. They followed that up with some

shopping and shopping and a stop on the way home at Brewster’s for some ice cream. Along for the ride were Daphne Fraker, Barb Frehn, Panda Horne, Sharon Horne, Melanie Myers, Judy Myers, Betty Ramsey, Susie Schmidt and Gail Stains.

Roger and Pat Ramsey enjoyed dinner with Brian, Emily and Micah Ramsey on Sunday evening.

Gordon and Donna Locke recently traveled to Branson, Mo., where they attended several shows and enjoyed some local sightseeing.

Nora Grissinger visited with Ruth Grissinger and Irene Park on Sunday afternoon. Destiny Ramsey and daughter Kadince also visited with Ruth and Irene this past week.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Tim Streightiff, and Kristi and Kenny Watkins traveled to Pittsburgh this weekend for a marathon. Both Tim and Kristi were participants in the “Run the City of Bridges” marathon on Sunday.

Three Springs Fire Co. and Lions Club annual parade and Memorial Day activities will kick off on Thursday, May 27 at 7 p.m. and continue through Sunday evening.

Visiting this past week with Steve and Karen Grissinger and family were Jr. and Tammy Anderson, Nora Grissinger, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Donnie Horne and Brent Carlson.

Five-dollar raffle tickets are available for a drawing the week of June 15 to 19 based on the straight evening daily lottery number to benefit Angel Wings. Contact Ruth Grissinger at 814-447-3617 if you are interested in helping to sell or purchase tickets. Angel Wings is a group of volunteers in a nonprofit organization helping to fill needs of many folks in our area.

Hustontown Fire Co. will be holding its annual Mother’s Day smorgasbord on Sunday, May 11 beginning at 11 a.m. There will be several meats, side dishes, salads, desserts and beverages. Please plan to attend and support the fire company.

The Angel Wings organization will be hosting a community Mother’s Day lunch at the Orbisonia Lions Club building on Mother’s Day from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meal will be served family style. Reservations to Ruth Grissinger for parties of four or more are suggested. There will be door prizes, raffle tickets and a mother’s appreciation gift. All proceeds benefit those who are helped by Angel Wings.

Ryan Bomgardner, a Christian comedian and ventriloquist, will be sharing his message on Sunday, May 16, at Immanuel Bible Church beginning at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Lots of folks were sporting some tan and sunburn after being outside enjoying the warm temperatures this weekend. The hummingbirds made their appearance this week, and the Grissinger family enjoyed a first cutting of new lettuce and some spring onions, so officially spring must be here to stay.
