Five Lady Spartans picked up individuals wins for McConnellsburg during a clean sweep of West Branch and Tussey Mountain last Thursday. Conchita Bartolon and teammate Libby Strayer cinched first place in the 1600 meter and 400 meter, respectively, while Santana Ramsey won the 200 meter. Krista Daniels and Jessica Nero finished with decisive wins in the discus and pole vault. Meanwhile, the 1600- meter relay team of Strayer, Nikki Fleming, A’leese Dickerson and Ramsey also picked up a first-place finish.

Lady Indian teammates Kelsie Truax and Cierra Covalt set school records last Thursday when Southern Fulton squared off against Mount Union and Bellwood- Antis. Truax took the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.94, while Covalt won the 300 hurdles with a finishing time of 51.45. Meanwhile, Amy Bard picked up pair of wins in the 400 and 800 meter. Crystal Appel wrapped up the Inter- County Conference meet with a victory in the shot put.

Southern Fulton prevailed over McConnellsburg last Tuesday and went on for a first-place win during a quad meet against Meyersdale, Shade and Hancock. Amy Bard secured a pair of individual victories in the 400 and 800 meter events and also ran a leg for the winning 3200 relay team comprised of Lacey Beatty, Melanie Deneen and Mariah Hill. Beatty went on for a win in the 3200 meter, and Jenna Hollenshead racked up a pair of victories in the 1600 meter and long jump. Crystal Appel took the shot put, while Mc- Connellsburg Lady Spartan Jessica Nero rounded out the meet with a win in the pole vault.
