Fannett-Metal scored a total of six runs in the fourth inning to cruise onto a 14-3 Sideling Hill League win over McConnellsburg Friday evening. Evan Appleby took his second loss of the season for the Spartans with five strikeouts, two walks, 12 hits and six earned runs. Jesse Swope connected at the plate on two occasions and also added a run scored.
Hyndman 16 Forbes Road 15
Forbes Road fought back to overcome the deficit twice Friday but Hyndman managed a run in the final inning to clinch the Sideling Hill League match 16-15. Andrew King led the Cardinals at the plate batting four-for-five with four RBIs, while Donovan Bricker tallied two hits and three RBIs. Kolby Buterbaugh and Dylan Gelvin each added a pair of hits. Trent Black took the loss on the mound with three strikeouts, two walks and two hits during the final two innings of the game.

Southern Fulton 7
Chestnut Ridge pushed four unearned runs across the plate in the final inning of last Friday’s game to slide by the Southern Fulton Indians 11-7. Levi Mellott had the teamís only extra-base hit, a double, and finished the Sideling Hill League match with three hits, as did teammate Ryan Harper. J.C. Munson drove in three runs off two hits. Pitcher Zach Morton closed out the final two innings of the game and was handed the loss with one strikeout and one hit.

The Forbes Road Cardinals scored a whopping 11 runs during the last two innings of Saturday’s league match to charge by the Southern Fulton Indians 18- 13. Trent Black went fourfor five at the plate with three doubles for the Cardinals, while teammates Dylan Gelvin, Ryan Hann and Dakota DeShong each had a double. Black picked up the win with three strikeouts, three hits and one earned run. Zach Morton led the Indians’ offense, batting threefor five with two doubles. Ryan Harper and Levi Mellott had a double as well, and Harper had the loss with two strikeouts, two walks, seven hits and two earned runs.

Pitchers Ryan Harper and Derek Younker combined for seven innings Wednesday night and led the Southern Fulton Indians to a 7-3 victory over Tussey Mountain. Harper picked up the win with four strikeouts, four walks, three hits and two earned runs, while Younker took the save with four hits. Teammate Zach Morton connected for a homer, and Dylan Whiteside added two hits.
The McConnellsburg Spartans’ season record evened out at 5-5 Wednesday with a big 17-3 loss to the Everett Warriors. Nathan Swope and Evan Appleby both had doubles for the Spartans. Seth Seville took the loss, lasting over four innings on the mound with three strikeouts, four walks, eight hits and seven earned runs.
