Woman Makes False Allegations

A 20-year-old McConnellsburg woman was accused on April 24 with making false reports to law enforcement officials after reporting she was raped by her ex-boyfriend in late March. Rachela A. Spriggs was cited through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott in connection with the incident.

State police said Spriggs reported to troopers on April 8 at 10:46 p.m. that she was raped by her exboyfriend on Saturday, March 27, at 212 Woodside Drive, McConnellsburg. Several days after making the initial report, she provided state police with a written statement that she lied about the incident and the allegations against her exboyfriend.
